Five ways to improve the look of your profile on Instagram
Social media is a big deal. Whether it’s on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, people are constantly sharing photos and videos of their lives with friends and family. And if you’re like me,then you’re probably looking for ways to make your Instagram profile look good so that more people will follow you. Luckily for us all, there are many ways to improve your profile on Instagram! Today we’ll go over some tips that will help you build up an audience on the platform:
1. Upload A Nice Profile Picture on your Instagram profile
This can be the most important part of your profile. Your profile picture is what potential followers see first, so it should look good. To do this:
a. Upload A Nice Picture Of Yourself! You don’t have to be a model or photographer to create a great profile picture, but try to make sure it’s clear and well-lit.
b. Use Good Quality Photos! If you’re shooting with a smartphone camera, try using natural light instead of artificial lighting for better quality images
c. Make Sure It Has Proper Lighting & Is Framed Well! Make sure your face isn’t too dark or too washed out by the flash on your phone camera and that there isn’t any glare from sunlight hitting water bottles in the background (this happens all too often). Also, make sure that there aren’t any distracting objects in front of you that could distract from our beautiful faces…those things are called “foreheads”.

2. Make Use Of Hashtags in your Bio To Increase Engagement In Your Posts
Using hashtags in your bio is one of the best ways to increase engagement while also improving the look of your Instagram bio from your posts. Hashtags are used as keywords or tags and are used as a way for users to search for things on Instagram. They help people find you!
Hashtags can also be used to target users who may be interested in reposting your content, which will drive more traffic to your profile. Reposting is when someone takes an image or video that you have posted and reblogs it onto their own account with credit given back to the original poster (you). This means that if someone likes what you posted, there could be more chances that other people will also see it!
3. Tell your story in your bio on your Instagram profile.
The bio section is a great place to tell a story about who you are and where you’re from. This can be anything from an anecdote that explains your Instagram handle or a couple of sentences about where you’re based, what inspires you and why people should follow you.
Here’s an example:
“Hi! I’m Amy, the Berlin-based photographer behind @amy_photography_. Here’s my website.”
4. Create a link-in-bio landing page.
You can also create a link-in-bio landing page that includes your contact details, with an easy way to get in touch and ask questions. That way, when people click on your profile, they’ll be directed straight to your website and see what else you have to offer.
Make sure you keep the link working properly by testing it out before posting it on Instagram. Also, ensure the landing page is mobile-friendly, so it loads quickly even if someone is browsing Instagram from their phone or tablet!
5. Take advantage of location services on your Instagram profile
You can use your location data in your bio to find other people with similar interests and events happening near you.
a. Find friends nearby: Make it easy for people to follow you by selecting “Find Friends Nearby.” This feature shows your profile on the map so anyone nearby can easily see who you are and then follow you back.
b. Find local businesses: When you open up the Explore section of Instagram, it will show what’s popular in the area based on your location data. For example, if I open this section while travelling abroad, it will show me popular places in Germany rather than my hometown because that’s where I am right now!
c. Find local deals: Another way to take advantage of location services is by finding out what deals are available near where I live/work/play out of curiosity/want some new makeup which isn’t sold locally yet but would be perfect for Halloween costumes or something else fun like that! Again though – beware: not everything here will be relevant (or even true). But if anything interesting comes up? Well then maybe those aren’t just ghosts after all…
